Andy you raise a very interesting point about the potential disruptive presence of blogging to the established publishing business model. The advantage of blogging is being able to get information from a direct source, such as an athlete or celebrity. The disadvantage of blogging and the very reason as to why blogging will never completely overthrow the established publishers is that the information lacks organization, controls, and strategy. People want consolidated information because anything less is a waste of their time. Will blogging hurt the occasional news story- maybe. Will it ever replace a news story- I doubt it.
